What are the differences between cast and blown stretch film?
Cast stretch film is manufactured using a continuous extrusion process where the molten resin is cooled quickly over chilled rollers. This method yields a highly transparent, glossy film with excellent tear resistance and quiet unwinding characteristics, making it ideal for general wrapping. Blown stretch film is created by extruding molten resin through a vertical die and blowing it into a bubble, cooling it slowly with air. The blown process results in a film with superior puncture resistance, higher holding power, and greater tough mechanical strength. While blown film is louder to unwind and less transparent, it excels at securing extremely heavy or sharp loads.
