How do you maintain a silt fence during construction?
Regular maintenance of a silt fence is required throughout the duration of a construction project to ensure continuous performance. Inspections should occur weekly and immediately after every significant rainfall event to look for signs of damage, such as tearing or sagging. Accumulated sediment must be removed and properly disposed of once it reaches one-third to one-half the height of the fabric barrier. If any section of the silt fence is knocked down or undermined by water, it must be repaired or replaced immediately.
