PCB Reverse Engineering PCB Copy and PCB Clone Services with Experienced Team by Hitech Circuits Co., Limited
Copy board, also known as cloning or imitation, is the reverse technical research of the designed PCB board; A new definition: Narrowly speaking, copying boards only refers to the process of extracting, restoring, and cloning electronic product circuit board PCB files using the files; In a broad sense, copying boards not only includes technical processes such as extracting circuit board files, cloning circuit boards, and copying circuit boards, but also includes modifying circuit board files (i.e. modifying the board), extracting three-dimensional data and replicating models of electronic product shape molds (i.e. copying numbers), copying various electronic components on electronic product circuit boards, decrypting encrypted chips or microcontrollers on circuit boards, disassembling system software of electronic products, and all technical processes for the complete cloning of electronic products.
PCB clone refers to PCB duplication or PCB copy. This can be described as a reverse technology of research which is based on the already-existing PCB boards, and then make another copy. This refers to PCB reverse engineering’s integrated tasks, IC unlock (which is also called IC cracks), PCB prototyping and debugging, and finally re-production.
PCB hardware clone technology enables the possibility on reversing the PCB module from the physical item to engineering drawings. Physical PCB modules will be translated into PCB Gerber (the production engineering file), PCB BOM List (PCB component list), & PCB Schematic Diagram. With these engineering files, re-produce / clone a PCB module is enable at any PCB manufacturer. The files could also be used for design modification or product upgrade.
Solutions that helped customer to have a complete documentation of their boards to create ODB++ FILES for Boundry scan Test and Flying board testers. The customer has 300 different boards being designed and manufactured by 3rd party. .
Copy board, also known as PCB copy board, circuit board cloning, PCB reverse design or PCB reverse R&D, is a reverse engineering technique.
Narrowly speaking, copying boards only refers to the process of extracting, restoring, and cloning electronic product circuit board PCB files using the files.
In a broad sense, copying boards not only includes extracting, cloning, and replicating circuit board files, but also includes modifying circuit board files (modifying boards), extracting three-dimensional data and replicating models of electronic product molds (copying), replicating electronic components, decrypting encrypted chips or microcontrollers, disassembling system software, and other technical processes for the complete cloning of electronic products
Nicknames include Reverse Engineering (RE), Reverse Engineering, Reverse Engineering, etc.
The first step is to obtain a PCB and record on paper the models, parameters, and positions of all components, especially the direction of diodes, diodes, and IC notches. It is best to take two photos of the positions of the components with a digital camera. The higher the PCB circuit board, the more advanced the diodes and transistors on it are. If you don't pay attention, you won't be able to see them at all.
Step two, dismantle all components and remove the tin from the PAD holes. Clean the PCB with alcohol and place it in the scanner. When scanning, slightly increase the scanning pixels to obtain clearer images. Gently polish the top and bottom layers with water gauze until the copper film is shiny, then place them in the scanner, start PHOTOSHOP, and scan the two layers separately in color. Note that the PCB must be placed horizontally and vertically inside the scanner, otherwise the scanned image cannot be used.
Step three, adjust the contrast and brightness of the canvas to create a strong contrast between the areas with and without copper film. Then, convert the secondary image to black and white and check if the lines are clear. If not, repeat this step. If the image is clear, save it as black and white BMP format files TOP.BMP and BOT.BMP. If any problems are found with the graphics, you can use PHOTOSHOP to repair and correct them.
Step 4, convert the two BMP files into PROTEL files, and call in two layers in PROTEL. If the positions of PAD and VI A passing through the two layers basically coincide, the previous steps are well done. If there is any deviation, repeat the third step. So PCB copying is a very patient job, because even a small problem can affect the quality and matching degree after copying.
Step 5, convert the BMP of the TOP layer to TOP.PCB, paying attention to converting it to the SILK layer, which is the yellow layer. Then, draw a line on the TOP layer and place the device according to the drawing in step 2. After drawing, delete the SILK layer. Repeat until all layers are drawn.
Step six, transfer TOP.PCB and BOT.PCB into PROTEL and merge them into one image.
Step seven, use a laser printer to print the TOP LAYER and BOTTOM LAYER onto transparent film (1:1 ratio), place the film on that PCB, and compare if there are any errors. If they are correct, you have completed the task.
A copied board identical to the original board was born, but this is only half completed. Further testing is required to ensure that the electronic technology performance of the copied board is the same as that of the original board. If it's the same, then it's really done.
Note: If it is a multi-layer board, it is necessary to carefully polish the inner layer and repeat the third to fifth steps of copying the board. Of course, the naming of the graphics is also different and should be determined according to the number of layers. Generally, double-sided board copying is much simpler than multi-layer board copying, and multi-layer board copying is prone to misalignment. Therefore, multi-layer board copying should be particularly careful and cautious (the internal conductive and non-conductive holes are prone to problems).
