Compostable mulch film is a type of agricultural film made from natural, renewable materials such as cornstarch, PLA (polylactic acid), or PBAT (polybutylene adipate terephthalate). Unlike traditional plastic mulch films, which are made from petroleum-based polymers and require removal and disposal after use, compostable mulch films are designed to break down naturally in the soil under certain conditions.
